Palo Altans Against Measure A

Thank you for studying the issues.

About Us – In the Fall of 2004, a small group of concerned and informed Palo Alto citizens successfully opposed Measure I, the $521 Parcel Tax.  Those same people, along with many other fellow citizens, have now organized as Palo Altans Against Measure A, to oppose the $493 Parcel Tax that will appear on the June 7th ballot.

Our Position -- We believe that the Palo Alto Unified School District has not made a “good faith” effort to live within its means.  We think the District has made no solid case for the levy of higher taxes. We believe that the core of the problem with PAUSD finances lies within the financial management of the School District itself.

Importantly, we believe that excellence in our Palo Alto schools can be maintained… WITHOUT a new Parcel Tax.
